KABUL: The news of the ban on the return of Afghanistan’s cricketer Rashid Khan has sparked a new controversy in the field of cricket. According to reports, the Afghan government has allegedly banned the return of the star spinner of the Afghan cricket team.

According to the media, the government allegedly applied pressure to remove Rashid Khan as captain of the Afghan cricket team. The government allegedly warned Rashid to refrain from speaking on the matter. Rashid was allegedly warned of further restrictions if he spoke on the matter.

The recent controversy surrounding Rashid Khan stems from his social media activity. Rashid Khan allegedly posted some messages on the importance of women’s education in Afghanistan. The messages allegedly did not go well with the government. In addition, Rashid allegedly introduced his second wife to the media.

Bangladesh defeat Pakistan, clinch series with 2–1

Bangladesh defeated Pakistan in the third and final match of the One-Day International series played in Mirpur, Dhaka, to clinch the series 1-2.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first, in response to which the host team scored 290 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs, setting Pakistan a target of 291 runs to win.

Bangladesh opener Tanzeed Hasan was the top scorer with a brilliant batting performance of 107 runs, while Tohid Harodai played a crucial innings of 48 runs.

Among the other batsmen, Liton Das scored 41, and Saif Hasan scored 36 runs, whose roles were important in the overall score.

Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf bowled well and dismissed 3 players.

Three changes were made in the Pakistan team for today’s match.

Ghazi Ghauri and Saad Masood made their ODI debuts for the national team, while Hussain Talat was out of the team due to injury and Shameil Hussain was also dropped for today’s match.

Abrar Ahmed was included in the team in place of Mohammad Wasim.

It is worth mentioning that in the first ODI of the series, Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 8 wickets; however, in the second ODI, Pakistan made a brilliant comeback by 128 runs under the DLS method and levelled the series. Pakistan suffered defeat in the third and final match, and the series was won by Bangladesh.
