The record for the most five-wicket hauls in ODI cricket history is firmly held by Waqar Younis of Pakistan, who surprisingly took more than five wickets 13 times.

The second position is snapped by Muttiah Muralitharan from Sri Lanka with 10 such occasions while Mitchell Starc from Australia, Brett Lee from England, and Shahid Afridi from Pakistan have all hit this landmark nine times.
