LAHORE: Rana Tanveer Hussain, the Federal Minister for Food Security and Research, has very clearly said that the presence of terrorists in Afghanistan is now a big issue and Pakistan will not allow India to use Afghan territory as a base for its proxy war.
In his address to the media at Muridke, Rana Tanveer echoed the sentiments that Afghanistan is Pakistan’s neighbor and a brotherly Islamic nation, hence, peace and stability in the region should be given special importance. “We desire peace, prosperity, and progress in Afghanistan and Pakistan is determined to eliminate terrorism from the region,” he pointed out.
The minister charged that if such terrorist activities in Afghanistan are allowed to continue, Pakistan will have no option but to resort to the necessary countermeasures.
Rana Tanveer took the initiative and slammed the unreasonable requests for the release of militants on parole, implying that their connection has led to the unhappy state of ties with Afghanistan. He made a political joke about the leaders, saying, “Sohail Afridi isn’t an allrounder but is going to be a ‘Buzdar Two’”.
