ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister’s Advisor on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, said that his side is ready for political negotiations, but added that “if someone is stubborn, then what can be done?”

Speaking in the Senate, Rana Sanaullah criticized political leaders who had previously signed the Charter of Democracy but, in his view, allowed personal agendas to dominate. “Their leader spent six to seven years insisting that he would not let anyone go,” he said.

On the health of Imran Khan, Rana Sanaullah said that, to his knowledge, Dr. Nadeem Qureshi was involved at Khan’s request. Doctors conducted examinations, and although Gohar Khan was invited to participate, he declined. “No further requests were made to the Supreme Court, nor were they accepted. The doctors conducted the examination and confirmed the treatment was appropriate. This matter should not be politicized,” he added.

The Prime Minister’s advisor emphasized that the coalition government has always tried to engage constructively. “We are willing to sit together for the betterment of the country, participate in parliamentary committees, and strengthen the Charter of Democracy. Yet, you continuously refuse to be part of the political process. You were also part of committees with senior leaders, but later you said you received orders. On legal cases, you disagree, but our approach is different; you must also seek relief through the courts,” he said.

Rana Sanaullah further noted that those who want to negotiate are being ignored, while those who refuse talks have already submitted requests.

He concluded: “We are ready to resolve matters democratically. Democracy moves forward through dialogue, not deadlock.”
