ISLAMABAD: The Federal Minister for Energy, Awais Leghari, has announced that there will be no load shedding during Sehri and Iftar times in the holy month of Ramzan.

The minister announced in his statement, saying that the government is keen to provide maximum relief to the citizens during the holy month of Ramzan. He said that special instructions have been issued to ensure that the flow of electricity is not interrupted during the important times.

The minister said that there will be no power outages during Sehri and Iftar times because all the distribution lines will be functional. He said all distribution companies have been strictly directed to ensure the smooth implementation of the decision.

The government has established a contemporary system for monitoring purposes, which enables it to track feeder operations and oversee electricity management at all times.

The announcement follows directives from the federal government, which aim to assist citizens throughout Ramzan. According to officials, they are doing their best to ensure public safety during the pre-dawn and sunset meal times.

The energy minister has confirmed that the government is doing everything in its power to ensure a continuous supply of electricity while providing relief during the holy month.

Ramzan moon sighted in Pakistan, first fast to be observed tomorrow

Earlier, the moon of Ramzan has been sighted in Pakistan, after which the first fast will be observed across the country tomorrow, Thursday.

According to Geo News, a meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was held in Peshawar on Wednesday to sight the moon of Ramadan, which was chaired by the Chairman of the Committee, Maulana Abdul Khair Azad.

The meeting reviewed the Shariah evidence received from across the country in detail. Representatives of the Meteorological Department and Suparco were also present on the occasion, who provided scientific and technical assistance, while members of the Zonal Committee also attended the meeting and provided information about the information received from other parts of the country.

Talking to the media after the meeting, Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Abdul Khair Azad, officially announced that solid and Shariah evidence of moon sighting has been received from different cities of Pakistan.

He said that after verifying all the evidence, the committee has unanimously decided that the first of Ramzan will be tomorrow.
