PESHAWAR: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on Monday predicted rain and snowfall in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from tomorrow, Tuesday.
According to a statement issued by the PDMA, intermittent rains are expected across various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from tomorrow until November 5, with snowfall likely in some higher regions.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert to all district administrations in the province, urging them to be prepared and take necessary precautions due to the anticipated rainfall.
From November 4 to 5, intermittent rain accompanied by thunderstorms and snowfall may occur in the districts of Upper and Lower Dir, Upper and Lower Chitral, Swat, Kohistan (Upper and Lower), Kolai Palas, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Malakand, Bajaur, and Mohmand.
There is also a strong possibility of rain in the districts of Kohat, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, North and South Waziristan, Tank, and Dera Ismail Khan.
Due to the rainfall, there is a risk of road closures caused by landslides in Abbottabad, Battagram, Buner, Upper and Lower Chitral, Upper and Lower Dir, Khyber, Upper and Lower Kohistan, Kulgam, Kurram, Malakand, Mansehra, Mohmand, Orakzai, Shangla, Swat, Torghar, and the mountainous regions of North Waziristan.
There is also a risk of damage to vulnerable houses, electricity poles, advertisement boards, and solar panels as a result of the rains.
All district administrations are directed to take precautionary measures, ensure the drainage systems are cleared, and provide timely information to residents, tourists, and travellers. The PDMA has also advised farmers and livestock keepers to relocate crops and animals to safer areas.
Additionally, an appeal has been made to relevant institutions to ensure the availability of emergency services, medical aid, food, and other essential supplies. The public is urged to avoid unnecessary travel during this adverse weather.
