According to the details, rain and snowfall have been predicted in various cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from December 13 to 15. According to the Meteorological Department report, a new series of rain and snowfall is likely to start in the upper and mountainous areas of the province from Saturday, in view of which the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert to the relevant institutions for precautionary measures.

According to the PDMA, rain and snowfall are expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, and other upper districts from December 13 to 15, while light rain is expected in Peshawar, Charsadda, Mardan, Nowshera, and Swabi in the plains.

The PDMA has warned that snowfall may cause slippery roads in Naran, Kaghan, and other upper areas, which may affect traffic flow. In addition, heavy rain and snowfall may increase the risk of landslides in mountainous areas.

The authority has directed the district administration, rescue agencies, and related departments to keep machinery, staff, and other resources ready to deal with any emergency. The public has also been asked to avoid unnecessary travel, especially before heading to upper areas, to be aware of the weather conditions, and take precautionary measures.
