Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasted a series of westerly winds affecting the upper and western parts of Pakistan, which will continue till March 12 and under this system, the weather is likely to remain cloudy, and rain with strong winds in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and the Potohar region is expected on Tuesday.

Heavy rain is also expected at a few places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. On Tuesday, the intensity of rain and hailstorms with thundershowers has been predicted in these areas. Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, and Galiyat may also experience intermittent rain and hailstorms at some places.

The Meteorological Department has advised tourists to avoid unnecessary travel and farmers to manage crops according to the weather. During this time, daytime temperatures are expected to drop by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius in the upper areas, while there is also a risk of landslides in some mountainous areas of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The Meteorological Department has also issued an alert for Pakistan regarding air pollution following the recent attacks on oil installations in Iran. According to the report, winds blowing from Iran can carry toxic particles and pollution towards the western regions of Pakistan, which is likely to worsen the air quality in Balochistan and other border areas.
