RAWALPINDI: Kagiso​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ Rabada has smashed the record that was held for 119 years in the second Test against Pakistan by his fabulous performance which made him be remembered in the cricket world.

In the first innings, Pakistan made 333 runs. South Africa was chasing the total and Rabada came out to bat at number ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌11. South Africa was approaching that total when, Rabada, batting at number 11 came in. At Pindi Stadium, Rabada displayed a whirlwind of batting and hit to the boundary for 71 runs off 61 balls. His innings consisted of 4 fours and 4 sixes and he with Temba Bavuma shared a very crucial last wicket partnership of 98 runs.

By Rabada’s aggressive batting South Africa managed to make 404 runs in their first innings thus acquiring a lead of 71 runs.

Rabada’s batting not only contributed runs to his team’s total but also, he set a new record in South Africa for the highest individual score by a number eleven batsman in Test cricket. The record was held previously by Bert Vogler who scored an unbeaten 62 runs against England at Cape Town in 1906.

Also globally, the lowest order batsman who scored the highest in Test cricket is still Ashton Agar of Australia when he made 98 runs against England in the 2013 Ashes.

Rabada’s innings not just grabbed people’s attention but also set a new benchmark for the last few batsmen in Test cricket.
