PESHAWAR: The railway service between Quetta and Peshawar was suspended temporarily, officials announced.
The Jaffar Express will not operate from today until November 13, 2025, due to operational reasons only, the railway administration informed. They said the stoppage is only for a short time, and the railway department is taking the necessary steps to resolve the situation and ensure passenger comfort. They will be back on track when the journey of the passenger service is completed.
On the other hand, the Chaman Passenger Train, running between Chaman and Quetta, will continue its operations as per the regular schedule.
Jaffar Express is back! Quetta–Peshawar route reopens after 5 days
On September 23, the Quetta-Peshawar Jaffar Express was resumed after five days of suspension, railway officials confirmed on Sunday.
Earlier on September 23, the Jaffar Express, travelling from Peshawar to Quetta, derailed near the Dasht track in Balochistan due to a technical fault.
According to railway officials, three bogies of the train derailed; one bogie overturned, while the other two derailed without overturning.
Immediately after the accident, rescue teams were dispatched to the scene, and the injured were transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance. Railway officials reported that all passengers of the Jaffar Express have safely evacuated the accident site, and the train has now been fully cleared.
Media reported a blast that is contrary to the fact.
The Bolan Mail has also started running again and left on time.
Official said the repair process of the affected railway line and bridge was finished last night, enabling train services to start running again.
