ISLAMABAD: The chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council, Maulana Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Islamabad and at Wana Cadet College.
In a video message, Ashrafi began with an invocation and expressed his sorrow for the victims. He attributed the violence to Pakistan’s enemies, who are attempting to ignite a campaign of terrorism against the country. He praised the Pakistan Army for successfully thwarting an assault on Wana Cadet College, noting that their response mirrored the defence displayed during the APS school attack.

Ashrafi condemned the suicide blast in Islamabad, denouncing the perpetrators as “killers of innocent people.” He referred to them as “dogs of hell” and emphasised the severe punishment that awaits those who take innocent lives, citing Quranic verses to underline his point. He affirmed that the entire nation stands united with the state against “terrorism, barbarism, and brutality.”
Furthermore, he warned of external actors, naming hostile elements in Afghanistan, and accused India and its allies of supporting such campaigns aimed at weakening Pakistan. He called for decisive action against those responsible for the violence and expressed confidence that terrorism can be defeated. He acknowledged past sacrifices and vowed to continue the resistance against these threats.
In closing, Ashrafi reaffirmed solidarity with Pakistan’s institutions and its people, urging the international community to take clear action against those who foment violence.
