PESHAWAR: Law enforcement has detained Sanam Javed, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, who is a prime suspect in the investigation into the May 9 riots.

According to official information, Sanam Javed was taken into custody late Tuesday night after all legal steps were followed and her detention was made based on solid evidence established in separate first investigation reports (FIR) against her and her alleged involvement.

Sanam Javed has been charged with leading an aggressive public demonstration, storming state institutions, and inciting violence after PTI founder’s arrest on May 9, 2023.
