LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Punjab’s Chief Organizer Aliya Hamza has reportedly been arrested in Lahore. Sources indicate that she was in the city to visit her family when the police took her into custody.
According to Express News report, the arrest occurred when she was in Lahore and authorities subsequently took her to an unknown facility. The authorities have not yet released any official information about the arrest together with its underlying reasons.
Political circles have developed an interest in Aliya Hamza’s detention because she holds a senior position in PTI. Her active participation in Punjab PTI activities establishes her as a prominent figure whose arrest represents a major political development in ongoing national political conflicts. The government has not shared any new information about the situation, according to their current public statements.

Similarly, on March 12, Punjab police have arrested Kaleem Ullah Khan, a Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), in Lahore in May 09 riots-related cases.
He is the main accused in a case registered on May 9. The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) had previously declared him a proclaimed offender. Authorities said a special police team carried out a targeted operation to arrest him in Lahore. Before taking action, the police obtained formal permission from the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly.
The arrest operation was carefully planned to ensure it proceeded smoothly and without incident. Security officials coordinated with local law enforcement to monitor the area and prevent any disruption.
After being taken into custody in Lahore, Kaleem Ullah Khan was transferred to Gujranwala. The police said he will face further legal proceedings there in accordance with the ATC’s directives.
