ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has canceled its rally scheduled for tomorrow at Liaquat Bagh. This decision was made following a request from the government, as stated by the Opposition Leader in the Senate, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas.
An important meeting of the PTI Political Committee took place today, attended by the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and senior party officials. The committee reviewed the current political situation in the country, particularly focusing on recent significant changes in the region.
The Political Committee acknowledged the progress toward a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran, welcoming this development as a major milestone. PTI commends the efforts of all parties involved in achieving this important outcome.
PTI advocates not only for a temporary ceasefire but for a permanent resolution and lasting peace in the Middle East. We believe that stability in the region is crucial for the survival of the global economy and humanity as a whole.
Pakistan will host a crucial meeting on April 10, where parties will discuss achieving a permanent ceasefire in Islamabad. This meeting holds great significance for both global and regional peace.
In light of this critical international context, the current regional situation, and ongoing diplomatic efforts to avert the impacts of war, the Political Committee has decided to postpone the rally that was to be held in Rawalpindi on April 9.
PTI Leader Imran Khan conveyed his message through Barrister Salman Safdar, emphasizing that the rally should be postponed due to the current scenario. This sentiment was echoed by PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan during his speech in the National Assembly.
The PTI believes that, at this time, it is essential to focus all efforts on the success of peace talks and strengthening diplomatic initiatives to achieve lasting peace. A new date for the rally will be announced after further consultation.
