ISLAMABAD: The federal government has rejected claims that Tirah Valley is being evacuated under military orders because officials confirmed no such orders exist. The officials said that these reports were created to intentionally confuse the public.

Minister of Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar stated that the PTI is continuously spreading baseless claims regarding Tirah Valley, which aim to create fear among citizens while damaging security agencies’ reputation for political or personal gain.

“The agencies of law enforcement and security conduct their operations through intelligence-based actions which target terrorist groups while protecting the lives of peaceful civilians,” Tarar said.

The minister explained that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Relief Rehabilitation and Settlement Department allocated PKR 4 billion on December 26 2025 for voluntary population movement which will occur in specific areas of Tirah Bagh. The emergency preparedness funds will be used to support transport and food supply and cash aid and temporary registration and relief centers.

The Deputy Commissioner Khyber reported that the proposed movement will be conducted through voluntary participation from the community which has received approval from local jirgas to assess their existing conditions and administrative resources. The organization does not use camps to force people to participate in its activities.

Officials stated that the initiative should not be connected to military operations because it creates false information which serves political aims and requires people to perform acts that violate both military and security agency laws.
