PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) fact-finding committee has released a report addressing the failure of the PTI rally held on September 27, identifying key issues that contributed to its lack of success.

The committee blames Faraz Mughal, who posed as the Chief Minister’s spokesperson, for issuing approximately 100 unauthorised red passes, which led to confusion and mismanagement. Furthermore, Mughal is reported to have misbehaved with senior party officials.

The report highlighted that despite being the host district, the Peshawar district organisation was not assigned any clear roles or responsibilities during the event. The rally venue also suffered from poor sanitation, with debris and dust creating an uncomfortable environment for participants. Additionally, the presence of stray dogs raised significant security concerns.

The report underscores irresponsible behaviour from some party officials and police personnel, particularly in their treatment of journalists and female participants. Several groups were involved in stage management without proper communication, resulting in chaos. Overall, poor logistical arrangements, inadequate facilities, and a lack of supervision disappointed many attendees.

To enhance future events, the committee recommends that the district organisation be given clear responsibilities, a command system be established, and that cleaning arrangements be completed in advance. It also emphasises the need for disciplinary action against unauthorised individuals interfering with events and calls for ensuring respect for journalists and women in future meetings.
