Despite the bitter cold and harsh weather conditions, PTI MNAs and workers led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi staged a protest demonstration to express solidarity with PTI founder Imran Khan.

Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi, who assumed office in October 2025, has been continuously leading the protest campaign against his leader Imran Khan and his imprisonment. He is accompanied by a large number of provincial cabinet members, members of the national and provincial assemblies and workers in the recent protest.

The workers outside the jail are raising slogans of “Imran Khan, step up, we are with you” and “Release, release, release Imran Khan”. Despite the bitter cold and chilly winds in Rawalpindi, the protesters are holding firm. Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said on the occasion that “this is a war of determination, cold or fog cannot dampen our spirits.”

The Chief Minister maintains that despite the orders of the Supreme Court, he and other leaders are not being allowed to meet Imran Khan, which he calls a violation of constitutional rights. The Chief Minister has announced that if permission is not granted for the meeting and immediate steps are not taken for Imran Khan’s release, the scope of the protest will be further expanded.
