RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Founder Sister Aleema Khan admitted to celebrating Basant at home and said that PTI does not tell anyone to stop celebrating Basant in Lahore.
Talking to the media outside ATC Pindi, Aleema Khan said that they had not told anyone not to celebrate Basant, and no one can stop Lahoreis from celebrating Basant. She has also flown kites at home.
Aleema Khan said that she observed the feelings of Lahoreis, where every child was flying kites. My son went to celebrate Basant with his children on February 6. Aleema Khan said that my elder son is a fanatic, he loves Basant, it is very difficult to stop Lahoris from Basant, this is not the Basant of any party but Basant of the entire nation.
Aleema Khan said that the protest of February 8 was very strong, the way people voted silently were record number of people, they also protested silently yesterday, earlier they used to stay at home, now they said come out. Pakistanis silently recorded their protest.
Aleema Khan said that those who were supposed to protest by closing shops yesterday did so, those who were not supposed to protest did not, yesterday’s protest was successful, call it what you will.
She further said that the cases of the last two years had accumulated in the Supreme Court, and a significant development is that a three-member bench has been formed to hear appeals.
