ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has been hit hard by a severe financial crunch and its leadership directed the lawmakers to make a contribution for the party to go forward in continue its activities.
Claiming to be the country’s largest political party yet struggling with severe financial constraints, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) is facing growing budgetary pressure as its financial difficulties deepen.
The party, in a letter a copy of which is available with Pakhtun Digital, directed its Members of the National Assembly, Senators, and provincial lawmakers (MPAs) to contribute 10 per cent of their monthly expenses to help meet organisational costs.
According to Sources, lawmakers have been asked to deposit Rs 50,000 per month, with the party urging that payments be completed on an emergency basis within 72 hours due to the seriousness of the financial crunch.
The PTI Accounts Department has reportedly expressed difficulty in managing routine expenses, prompting the leadership to seek immediate financial support from elected representatives. Additionally, heads of parliamentary groups have been directed to closely monitor compliance and ensure that the required contributions are deposited without delay.
The directives highlight the increasing financial pressure on PTI as it struggles to sustain party operations amid ongoing economic and political challenges.
