‎The meeting discussed various important issues including the law and order situation in the province. The delegation invited ANP to participate in the peace jirga of the provincial government.

Talking to the media after the meeting, ANP Provincial President Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that holding jirgas for establishing peace in Pakhtunkhwa is welcoming move.

“We have been participating in each other’s jirgas before. It is a good tradition for political parties to discuss various issues with each other” he said.

Welcoming the PTI delegation on their arrival at Bacha Khan Markaz Peshawar, he said that the Chief Minister had earlier contacted Central President Aimal Wali Khan.

Aimal Wali Khan had made it clear that the PTI would be given a reply after party consultation. We are bound by the decisions of the central organization and will take a decision only after mutual consultation. He further said that Pakhtunkhwa is facing various serious problems including law and order.

Problems can be solved better only by sitting together. We have always fought for the interests of the province and the country. I am grateful to PTI for the invitation to participate in the jirga.

“Provincial Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati also made a telephone call to invite the jirga. We reiterated the same position to him that the party would take a decision after consultation” he remarked

He further said that earlier they had organized a jirga consisting of all political parties. They had also continued its regular continuation and had also formed an organizing committee. Due to severe floods in Pakhtunkhwa, activities were disrupted after mutual consultation

“We had taken all political parties into confidence and started a movement. If necessary, a meeting of the organizing committee can be held at any time. Due to this movement, the problems of the province have reduced to some extent. Our position regarding law and order, terrorism and provincial autonomy is clear” he added.

The PTI delegation included Sher Ali Arbab, Shafi Jan, Kamran Bangash, Irfan Saleem, Arbab Asim and others. ANP provincial general secretary Hussain Shah Yousafzai, provincial spokesperson Arsalan Khan Nazim, joint secretary Hamid Toofan and provincial salar Shakir Shinwari were also present in the meeting.
