LAHORE: The 11th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is scheduled to take place in April and May of next year, according to an agreement reached in the meeting between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management and the franchise representatives in Lahore.
The source said that the meeting was a discussion between the PSL management representatives and the owners of all thefranchises. They discussed player management, the draft schedule, venues, and the league window.
The PCB also unveiled a preliminary scheme to the team owners about the admission of two new franchises in the next season of the league. Besides that, the franchise representatives were given a detailed briefing regarding the new title sponsorship agreement.
They consented to continue the discussion on the key issues at their follow-up meetings. The franchises were informed that they would receive updates relating to team valuations in the coming week.
The planned window for April–May for PSL 11 would be a departure from the tournament’s usual February–March slot, thus bringing it more in line with international cricket schedules and possibly allowing the league to be expanded to eight teams for the first time.
Salman Naseer opens up on expansion of teams, venues for PSL 11
Pakistan Super League (PSL) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Salman Naseer has confirmed that the inclusion of two new teams and an expansion of venues are being actively considered for the 11th edition of the league, scheduled for next year.
Speaking on the PSL Podcast, Naseer revealed that the league’s management and franchises are “seriously considering” hosting matches across six venues instead of the current four, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi to further expand the tournament’s reach. He identified Peshawar’s Imran Khan Stadium and Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium as the likely additions.
“Our goal is to take PSL 11 to six venues, by the will of Almighty Allah,” he said, adding that implementing the home-and-away concept remains a key focus. “Karachi should play in Karachi, Lahore in Lahore, Multan in Multan, and so on. While Islamabad plays in Rawalpindi, Quetta and Peshawar have faced some challenges with hosting home matches.”

Naseer noted that Peshawar’s Imran Khan Stadium is nearly ready, requiring only minor upgrades to meet PSL and international standards. “A bit of work is left, but we’re confident it will be ready in time for PSL 11,” he assured. He also confirmed that Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium is being prepared to host matches as part of the expansion.
The PSL CEO further reiterated plans to add two new franchises, with the tender process expected to begin in November. “There’s significant interest in new teams, and we expect strong competition once the process opens,” Naseer added.
