LAHORE: Islamabad United won convincingly against Rawalpindi by 7 wickets, in the 12th game of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 held at Qaddafi Stadium Lahore, on Saturday.

There was some delay in the game due to rain, but when the condition became better, Islamabad United’s captain, Shadab Khan, won the toss and opted to take the field putting Rawalpindi into bat first.

In their 20 over quota, Rawalpindi managed to score 156 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Kamran Ghulam made an outstanding contribution of 50 runs, followed by Dane Vilas who scored 44 runs. Others who scored significantly include 23 runs by Abdullah Fazal and 19 runs by Daryl Mitchell.

In the bowling department of Islamabad United, Aamir Wasim took 1 wicket, whereas Richard Gleeson, Fahim Ashraf, and Salman Irshad took 2 wickets each, giving a target of 157 runs to the team.

While chasing the set target, Islamabad United scored 157 runs within 14.2 overs and lost only 3 wickets, winning the game by 7 wickets. The top scorer for Islamabad United was Samir Minhas who made 70 runs.

Bowling for Rawalpindi, Mohammad Amir, Rashid Hussain, and Jalal Khan each took a wicket, but their efforts could not prevent Islamabad United’s emphatic victory.

This win boosts Islamabad United’s position in the PSL 11 standings and demonstrates their strong batting and bowling combination.

Yesterday, Karachi Kings have won their third consecutive match in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 as they defeated Rawalpindi by 5 wickets. The match between Karachi Kings and Rawalpindi took place at Qaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Karachi Kings won the toss and elected to bowl first. This gave Rawalpindi the chance to bat first. Rawalpindi scored 197 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Daryl Mitchell and Sam Billings were the top performers for Rawalpindi as they scored 65 runs and 58 runs respectively.

For Karachi Kings, two bowlers were outstanding as they took 3 and 2 wickets respectively. Their names are Hasan Ali and Khushdil Shah.

In response, Karachi Kings chased the target of 198 runs set by Rawalpindi with relative ease as they reached the target in 20 overs while losing 5 wickets. The top performers for Karachi Kings were captain David Warner, who scored 50 runs, and Azam Khan, whose brilliant innings earned his team victory as he scored 74 runs.
