LAHORE: Fakhar Zaman has been charged with a Level 3 offence for ball tampering during the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued an official statement confirming that Fakhar Zaman violated Article 41.3 of the PSL playing conditions related to altering the condition of the ball.
The PCB reported that the match referee Roshan Mahnama supported the charge against Fakhar Zaman for ball tampering after a disciplinary hearing which evaluated all the evidence. Fakhar Zaman has denied the charges against him.
The PCB also announced that hearings on the case of Fakhar Zaman will take place in the next 48 hours, and the match referee will make an announcement on the verdict after this.
The sixth match in PSL 11 was subject to a penalty of five runs on Lahore Qalandars due to a ball-tampering offense while batting in an innings against Karachi Kings. The match was played in Lahore, where Karachi Kings beat Lahore Qalandars by 4 wickets. Lahore Qalandars scored 128 runs while losing 9 wickets in 20 overs, while Karachi Kings successfully chased 129 runs in the last over while losing 4 wickets.
PSL: Lahore Qalandars players allegedly violate hotel security rules
Earlier, a controversy has been reported in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11, where the players of the Lahore Qalandars allegedly violated the security protocols.
According to the sources, the Lahore Qalandars players invited guests into their rooms at the hotel, violating the security protocols that clearly state that such actions are not allowed. The sources further reported that the players initially sought permission from the security personnel to allow the guests into the players’ rooms, but despite the permission not being granted, the players still allowed the guests into the rooms.
The sources further reported that the guests were present in the players’ rooms until 1:25 AM, which is a direct violation of the security and team protocols that have been set by the Pakistan Super League.
Following the reported violation of the security and team protocols by the Lahore Qalandars players, the Lahore city DIG Operations Faisal Kamran has written a letter to the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Chief Executive of the Pakistan Super League, Salman Naseer.
