LAHORE: The player draft for the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is expected to take place on January 30.
As per the sources, the PSL management has taken the decision to draft and complete all coming arrangements very early and has started by making preliminary plans in this context. The management is trying to make sure that all the matters regarding logistics and administration are wrapped up at the right time.
Moreover, the sources said that the official announcement regarding the date and venue of the draft is expected to be made soon. The owners of all eight franchises, together with coaches and other related representatives, are likely to be present on the day of the event.
It was also found out that PSL 11 draft may be held between the T20 series of Pakistan and Australia during a one-day break allowing stakeholders to attend the event without affecting their international commitments.
Pakistan Super League is one of the major sports events in the country, and already fans and franchises are getting excited about the upcoming season.
OZ Developers secures ownership of Eighth PSL Franchise for record bid
OZ Developers secured the bid for the eighth team of Pakistan Super League (PSL) on the name of Sialkot with a record worth of Rs 18.5 million.
The eighth team of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) was purchased by OZ Developers for Rs 185 crore and the name Sialkot was chosen. Earlier, the seventh team of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) was purchased by FKS for Rs 175 crore and the city was chosen Hyderabad.
The auction process for the two new teams to be included in the PSL has been completed. The auction process was held at the Jinnah Convention Center, Islamabad, where there is fierce competition between different parties. During the auction, a bid of Rs 175 crore was received for the seventh team of the PSL, which made the process more interesting. FKS Group bought the seventh team of the PSL for Rs 175 crore and chose Hyderabad for the team.
Owner of the Hyderabad team Fawad Sarwar says that having grown up in Hyderabad, we wanted to buy a team and go. After which a bid was made for the eighth team of the PSL. The highest bid was made by OZ Developers and they bought the team for 185 crores. OZ Developers chose Sialkot.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Mohsin Naqvi gave a prize money of Rs 90 million to the team that won the Rising Star Asia Cup. On this occasion, the winning team of the Hong Kong Sixes was also given a prize of Rs 18.5 million.
