PESHAWAR (Salman Yousafzai): Following complaints regarding hundreds of irregular appointments in government schools, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department has initiated a formal crackdown to restore administrative merit.
Official reports reveal a long-standing trend where headmasters have been incorrectly assigned to subject specialist (SS) positions, and vice versa, across various districts for several years.
In response, the department has issued an urgent directive to all district authorities, demanding immediate and precise details of these mismatched appointments via a standardised proforma. A stern warning accompanied the letter, stating that any posts not clarified through this data collection will be declared vacant. These findings are slated for a final review at the next Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meeting, where the department aims to ensure that all future school staffing strictly aligns with established provincial rules and professional requirements.
