PESHAWAR (Kashifuddin Syed): A major investigation has been launched after a massive scandal involving the alleged illegal sale of valuable railway land, and shops came to light.

According to railway sources, several shops established on railway land near Khushal Bazaar have been sold for up to Rs 5 million. The scale of the scandal deepens in the Dabgari Garden Tire Market, where it was revealed that some shops were sold for up to Rs 1 crore.

Similar reports of illegal sales have emerged regarding shops near the Nothia Railway Gate and Firdous Railway Gate. However, sources indicate that the highest number of shops have been sold near the Faqirabad Railway Station.

Railway authorities have stated that cases will be registered against those involved in these illegal buying and selling activities. As part of the crackdown, the shops will be retrieved and handed over to the railways. Investigators are also likely to summon former businessmen and other related persons to join the inquiry.
