The two leaders are also expected to discuss regional and global developments of mutual interest.

According to a Foreign Office statement, it is expected that the visit will formalise cooperation in various fields, which reflects the shared determination of the two countries to further enhance and deepen their long-standing brotherly relations.

According to the statement, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have historic relations, which are rooted in shared religious values ​​and mutual trust. The Prime Minister’s visit will provide an important opportunity for the two leaders to strengthen this unique partnership, and both countries will explore new avenues of cooperation for the benefit of the people.

The meeting on Wednesday is being described as of exceptional importance in the context of the current situation of Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations and the changing political and security situation in the region.

The meeting is taking place at a time when Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had also met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on the sidelines of the Arab-Islamic Summit held in Doha on Monday.

The two leaders had a detailed discussion on the situation in Palestine and the challenges facing the Islamic world on this occasion. The meeting in Riyadh is being considered as a continuation of this, in which further progress will be made on the practical aspects of bilateral relations.

The Prime Minister’s delegation will include Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, several senior ministers and high-ranking officials who will attend various meetings and engagements. After his stay in Riyadh, the Prime Minister will leave Saudi Arabia for the UK, where he will meet the British leadership and discuss important issues.

After completing his visit to the UK, Shehbaz Sharif will go to New York, where he will represent Pakistan at the United Nations General Assembly session. His address is expected to present Pakistan’s position on the Kashmir issue, Palestine, regional security, climate change and the economy.
