ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif departed for a brief official visit to Saudi Arabia on Thursday, following an invitation from Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The visit will feature a high-level meeting between the two leaders to discuss regional security, escalating tensions in the Middle East, and the strengthening of bilateral relations.

This mission underscores Pakistan’s active diplomatic engagement and its commitment to playing a constructive role on the international stage.

Also on the day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif replaced the governor Sindh and appointed senior politician Nehal Hashmi as the new Governor of Sindh.

According to Media reports, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Nehal Hashmi at the PM’s house in Islamabad and congratulated him on being appointed as the governor of Sindh.

Also, the media reported that a summary has been submitted to the president of Pakistan for approval for the replacement of Sindh governor on Thursday.

Kamran Tesori was a governor for Sindh province from the Mutahida Qaumi Movement Party (MQM) and served as governor for over two years.

Nehal Hashmi is a former senator and a senior lawyer from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.
