ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has commented on the founder of PTI and labeled him as an irresponsible and silly leader.

During a speech at the monument of the former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, Zardari stated that one individual had caused the greatest damage to Pakistan’s economic and diplomatic relations in the period of the last four and a half years.

While speaking, the President did not explicitly say it but seemed to point at the former Prime Minister Imran Khan by claiming that the current leadership had been negligent and had lowered the country’s global standing. Furthermore, he added that the current regime is very gradually improving the situation.

To his credit, Zardari also commended the Pakistani Armed Forces for their leadership, saying that the military had given a strong response to India. He caution Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the forces of Pakistan are not only brave mi professional, but also any intrusion into Pakistan would be met with a very powerful counterattack.

The President did not say it in a straightforward manner, yet he appeared to be indirectly attributing the blame to Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister, through his comment that the leaders had acted recklessly and had lowered the country’s standing with the world. Moreover, he was of the opinion that the present government was, little by little, getting the matter back on track.

In addition to this, Zardari referred to the Pakistani Armed Forces in terms of their superior leadership and said that the military had provided a strong reaction to India. He cautioned Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the Pakistan military is very brave and well trained, and that any advance into Pakistan will be met with a strong counterattack.

He declared, “The Army Chief is so courageous that any enemy aiming at harming Pakistan will suffer dire consequences.”

President Zardari reiterated that the past government had placed Pakistan in isolation in the international arena but the existing institutions and executive are cooperating to return the country to the right path.
