The preparation of a new 10-year franchise agreement for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has reached its final stages.
During a meeting with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, a representative from the chartered firm AY Mina presented a new valuation report. PSL CEO Salman Naseer and COO Sameer Syed were also in attendance.
Mohsin Iqbal and his team discussed the market value of the franchise and outlined the basic structure for the new agreement, prompting detailed questions from the PCB Chairman.
The PCB Chairman instructed the chartered firm to hold meetings with all the existing franchises. A new franchise agreement will be finalised based on the new valuation report, and it will include only eligible franchises.
According to sources, the contracts for the current six PSL franchises will expire in December, and the number of franchises is set to increase to eight in the next season.
