PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), organized a media engagement session in Peshawar to highlight ongoing humanitarian interventions in Bajaur and strengthen cooperation with journalists.
The session, supported by the Norwegian Red Cross and funded by the European Union, brought together media representatives to enhance public awareness of relief efforts aimed at vulnerable communities in the merged districts.
Participants were briefed on key initiatives underway in Bajaur, including health services, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) interventions, and cash assistance programmes designed to support families affected by crises.
Chairman PRCS Merged Areas branch, Imran Wazir, and Chairman PRCS Khyber Pakhtunkhwa branch, Farzand Ali Wazir, addressed the gathering and acknowledged the role of the media in drawing attention to humanitarian challenges. They expressed hope for continued collaboration to ensure that the needs and voices of affected populations are effectively communicated.
A detailed briefing on Bajaur initiatives was delivered by Amjad Sohail, programme manager of the PRCS Merged Areas branch, who highlighted the scale, impact and future plans of interventions supported by the Norwegian Red Cross and financed by the European Union.
The session concluded with an interactive discussion, during which journalists shared feedback and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting humanitarian communication efforts across the merged districts.
