Secretary General of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Muhammad Humayun Khan, has expressed serious concern over the recent increase in petroleum prices and rejected the decision, calling it a heavy burden on the people.

‎He said that the increase of Rs. 55 per litre in petrol and diesel prices is a major economic burden on the public. Increasing petroleum prices for the second time during the holy month of Ramadan is extremely unfortunate and unfair to the people.

‎Muhammad Humayun Khan stated that this increase will trigger a new wave of inflation, further raising the prices of essential commodities and increasing the hardships faced by the common man. He added that the public is already suffering from severe inflation, and under such circumstances, the increase in petroleum prices is unacceptable.

‎He demanded that the government immediately withdraw the decision to increase petroleum prices and provide relief to the people.

‎He further stated that the recent hike in petroleum prices will be harmful not only for the public but also for the national economy. Sustainable economic stability cannot be achieved without people-friendly policies.

‎Muhammad Humayun Khan urged the government to take immediate and effective measures to control inflation and provide relief to the people.
