KHYBER: Despite the presence of important political officials like Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, a Senator, MNA, and four MPAs, there is no smooth supply of electricity in the district, and most of the population relies on solar power to fulfil their needs.
Despite political influence, deprivation: Locals say that for the first time in history, Bara has received such a large political representation, in which the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also belongs to the same soil, but in practice, the provision of electricity to the people has remained a dream. Electricity is being provided for only two to four hours in different areas of Bara, due to which business activities have been paralyzed, and there is a severe shortage of drinking water.
Local people said that the electricity supply from grid stations has been deliberately reduced due to a reduction in the electricity subsidy and quota given to tribal districts. The people and business community of Bara have held protests several times against the lack of electricity and closed the Pak-Afghan highway, but the authorities have only given consolations.
The people are asking their elected representatives that if, despite such a large number of people being present in the houses of power, the basic problems of Bara cannot be solved, then what is the use of this representation?
