ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif has appointed Musharraf Ali Zaidi as the new spokesperson for foreign media, as confirmed by a notification from the Prime Minister’s Office on Sunday.
This appointment is effective immediately and will remain in place until further notice. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, along with the Cabinet Division, has been instructed to proceed accordingly, with the Prime Minister’s Office also cancelling the previous appointments made on June 4 and June 10.
The Prime Minister’s decision to appoint Musharraf Ali Zaidi is aimed at effectively presenting Pakistan’s stance on international matters.
Musharraf Ali Zaidi is recognised for his expertise in policy analysis and advocacy, particularly in education, public policy, and technology. In June 2025, the PML-N government appointed him as the Chief Coordinator for Government Performance and Innovation at the Prime Minister’s Office. This role was intended to ensure high-level coordination in monitoring government performance and implementing new procedures.
