LAKHI MARWAT: A tragic incident of terrorism occurred in the Sarai Naurang area of Lakki Marwat district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where three traffic police officers on duty were martyred due to gunfire from unknown assailants on motorcycles.
According to a police spokesperson, the martyred officers include Traffic Police In-charge Jalal Khan, Constable Azizullah, and Constable Abdullah. The spokesperson reported that the attackers opened fire suddenly and then fled the scene, leading police and other law enforcement agencies to launch a search operation.
Immediately after the incident, the bodies of the martyred officers were transferred to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Sarai Naurang, where legal proceedings are being carried out. A large number of relatives of the deceased and fellow officers have gathered at the hospital, creating a somber atmosphere.
District police officials have initiated an investigation into the incident and are conducting raids at various locations to apprehend the attackers. They assure that those responsible for this crime will soon be brought to justice.
In the aftermath, senior police officers and local administration officials have condemned the attack and paid tribute to the martyred officers. They emphasized that the sacrifices made by these police personnel will not be in vain, and are committed to taking every possible step to maintain law and order in the area.
Funeral prayers for the martyred officers are expected to be held with official honors, and the government is anticipated to announce a relief package for their families. This incident once again underscores the sacrifices made by police personnel in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who risk their lives for the establishment of peace.
Following the attack, panic spread throughout the area, prompting security forces to quickly cordon off the site.
