Police have intensified their crackdown on Afghans living illegally in Rawalpindi and surrounding areas to ensure the government’s plan of repatriation of illegal Foreign nationals.

Rawalpindi police carried out search operations against illegal Afghan residents, arresting 36 individuals during coordinated search operations across multiple areas.

Authorities confirmed that the arrested afghan illegal citizens have been shifted to holding centers and will be deported after necessary processing.

The search operations were conducted within the jurisdiction of 24 police stations across all three divisions of Rawalpindi. Police teams also inspected bus terminals and three truck stands as part of the crackdown.

During the operations, biometric verification of 2,135 individuals was carried out. A total of 1,386 hotels and 27 other lodging facilities were checked, along with two hostels.

Police registered cases against 25 homeowners for violating the Tenancy Act, while a separate case was filed against an individual for possession of illegal weapons.

Authorities stated that such operations will continue to ensure compliance with legal residency requirements and to maintain law and order in the region.
