ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League(N) is leading all six constituencies of the National Assembly as counting is underway amid allegations of various candidates against each other.
According to the unofficial results of the by-elections held in various constituencies of Pakistan, the PML-N has taken the lead in all the important constituencies.
In 20 polling stations, PML-N’s Sardar Mahmood Qadir Leghari is leading with 13,098 votes, while PPP’s Sardar Dost Muhammad Khosa is trailing with 4,752 votes. As per provisional and unofficial results, PML-N has secured a clear lead in key constituencies of the National Assembly.
In polling station no.1, Government Girls Postgraduate College, Haripur, PML-N’s Babar Nawaz Khan is leading with 425 votes, while independent candidate Shehrnaz Umar Ayub is in second place with 267 votes. In the polling station of Government High School, Babar Nawaz Khan is leading with 326 votes, and Shehrnaz Umar Ayub is the runner-up with a gap of 70 votes. In polling station no. 31 of Tap Housing Society, Shehrnaz Bibi is leading with 158 votes, while Babar Nawaz Khan got 117 votes.
In polling station no. 30, Shehrnaz Bibi is leading with 155 votes, and Babar Nawaz Khan with 107 votes. A tight contest was seen between Shehrnaz Omar Ayub and Babar Nawaz Khan at other polling stations as well. In Government High School Polling Station No. 588, Motia, Babar Nawaz Khan is leading with 274 votes, while Shahr Naz Umar Ayub got 206 votes. In Haripur Postgraduate College for Women Polling Station No. 1, Shahr Naz Umar Ayub is leading with 197 votes, while Babar Nazad Khan is trailing with 171 votes.
In High Secondary School, Sarai Saleh Polling Station No. 159, Babar Nazad Khan is leading with 302 votes, while Shahr Naz Umar Ayub is trailing with 227 votes. In BHU Kandi Polling Station No. 454, Shahr Naz Umar Ayub is leading with 162 votes as a candidate supported by PTI, while Babar Nazad Khan is in second place with 82 votes of PML-N. According to the results so far, Babar Nawaz is leading with 21,430 votes while Shahr Naz has received 19,257 votes. The NA-18 Haripur by-election witnessed tough competition at all polling stations amid low voter turnout.
