Pakistan Metrological department predicted strong westerly wind is blowing in Peshawar and its surroundings today, due to which the weather is completely cloudy.
According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain with thundershowers may continue throughout the day today. Due to the humidity ratio of more than 80 percent in the air, there will be a feeling of coolness, and due to strong winds, the temperature will feel lower than usual. Due to snowfall in the upper areas, cold winds will also prevail in the plains.
After the 6.2 magnitude earthquake in last night, Rescue 1122 and the district administration are on high alert in various districts of the province, including Peshawar.
Although no major loss of life has been reported so far, there have been reports of cracks in the walls of old buildings in some old areas of Peshawar.
The PDMA has instructed citizens to exercise caution in the event of aftershocks and stay away from dilapidated buildings.
