The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted rain with thundershowers in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.
According to the Meteorological Department, during this time, heavy rain is also expected at some places in north eastern Punjab, Kashmir and adjacent hilly areas. The Meteorological Department has forecast rain at a few places in Islamabad and its surroundings.
Rain is likely in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Lahore, Sargodha, Khushab, Sialkot, Narowal, Kasur, Hafizabad, Faisalabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat and Gujranwala. Rain is expected in Peshawar, Swat, Kohat, Mardan, Dir, Chitral, Bannu, Bajaur, Abbottabad, Swabi and Mansehra. The weather is expected to be partly cloudy in the southern areas of Balochistan.
Meanwhile, the weather is likely to remain dry and hot in some parts of the country; however, strong winds and thundershowers are likely at a few places, north eastern Punjab, Potohar region, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
During the last 24 hours, the weather was hot and dry in most parts of the country, while the weather was partly cloudy in the coastal areas. However, there was rain with strong winds and thunderstorms at a few places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and adjacent hilly areas. During this, light rain was also recorded in Karachi.
According to the Meteorological Department, the current temperature in Karachi is 27 degrees Celsius. Today, the maximum temperature is expected to reach 32 degrees Celsius. The humidity in the air is 92 per cent, and the winds are blowing from the southwest at a speed of 7 kilometres per hour.
The Meteorological Department says that Karachi is likely to be partly cloudy with drizzle. 11th spell of monsoon rains likely to continue in Punjab till September 19. According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the 11th spell of monsoon rains across Punjab is likely to continue till September 19.
The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in most districts of Punjab in the next 24 hours. According to the DG PDMA, there is a possibility of an increase in the flow in the rivers and canals of Rawalpindi, Murree, and Galiyat. In view of the instructions of the Chief Minister of Punjab, the administration has been alerted.
