ISLAMABAD: The official visit of Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Russia, scheduled for two days, has been canceled. According to sources from the Prime Minister’s House, the visit was called off due to an extraordinary situation.
This visit was expected to feature important meetings between Prime Minister Sharif and Russian President Vladimir Putin, focusing on bilateral, regional, and global issues. Furthermore, the visit was anticipated to include the signing of various agreements aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two nations.
A significant aspect of the visit was the Moscow-Islamabad Media Forum, which was planned for February 27, 2026. The forum was designed to serve as a crucial platform for strengthening strategic dialogue, media cooperation, and public relations between Russia and Pakistan. However, there have since been changes to both the scheduling of the forum and the dates of the visit.
