ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday held a meeting with an Iranian delegation during the ongoing Islamabad Talks, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to play a constructive role in promoting regional and global peace.

The Iranian delegation was led by Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and assisted by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

During the meeting, the prime minister appreciated Iran’s engagement in the talks and underscored Pakistan’s sincere resolve to continue facilitating dialogue and mediation efforts aimed at achieving meaningful outcomes in the interest of regional and international peace and stability.

He emphasised that Pakistan remained committed to supporting initiatives that promote cooperation and reduce tensions in the region.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Asim Munir, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also attended the meeting from the Pakistani side.
