ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Qatari Minister of Commerce and Industry, Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani, in which both leaders expressed satisfaction over the pleasant state of bilateral relations.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, describing Qatar as Pakistan’s key partner and influential regional mediator, stressed increasing cooperation in the sectors of energy, agriculture, IT, tourism, and infrastructure, and invited Qatari investors to benefit from the framework of the Special Investment Facilitation Council. Sheikh Faisal bin Thani expressed his determination to further strengthen economic ties with Pakistan and said that the Joint Ministerial Commission meeting has identified new steps to advance mutual partnership.
The two leaders also agreed to provide more facilities in business contacts and investment projects, and the Prime Minister thanked Qatar for its continued support for Pakistan at regional and global forums. It should be noted that Prime Minister Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will leave for Saudi Arabia on a three-day official visit next week. According to diplomatic sources, the Prime Minister will be accompanied by top political and military leadership, federal ministers, and other officials on this important visit.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will hold important meetings with the Saudi leadership, including a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Defence cooperation, economic partnership, energy, investment, and regional and global issues will be discussed in the meetings.
The Prime Minister will also address the Future Investment Initiative, a global investment conference to be held in Riyadh during his visit. Leading investors, industrialists, economists, and policymakers from around the world will participate in the global conference. According to sources, the Prime Minister will highlight investment opportunities in Pakistan, economic reforms, and government policies in the conference to attract foreign investors.
Important agreements and memoranda of understanding are also likely to be signed during the Prime Minister’s visit, which will further strengthen relations between the two brotherly Islamic countries.
