ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the Prime Minister Youth Program (PMYP), Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, on Thursday announced that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has increased the quota of laptops available under the PM Laptop scheme.
Chairman PMYP made this statement during in event and said that this increase specifically benefits students from Balochistan, raising the quota from 10,000 to 18,000 laptops.
During the inauguration ceremony of Artificial Intelligence and Cybercrime courses in Chagai, DHA Quetta, Rana Mashhood emphasised the federal government’s commitment to providing the youth with modern technical education and skills.
He highlighted the government’s focus on skill development for the youth in Balochistan and stated that the PM Youth Program would continue to expand its initiatives throughout the province.
Additionally, Mashhood noted that promoting the agriculture sector is a key government priority, and many young people from Balochistan have recently received startup loans through PMYP initiatives.
He remarked that the world is rapidly changing, with the youth transitioning from job seekers to job creators. He also pointed out that Pakistan is one of the few countries with a national policy on Artificial Intelligence.
Furthermore, Mashhood stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has increased Newtech funds to ensure youth employment, especially in the Middle East, Europe, Korea, Canada, and the United States. This initiative aims to double their foreign exchange earnings within three years.
