ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced significant rewards for the players of the under-19 Pakistan cricket team that became the Asian champions by defeating India in the final of the Under-19 Asia Cup 2025.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has announced a reward of Rs 10 million for each player of the Pakistan cricket team that won the Under-19 Asia Cup, stating that the team has made the nation proud. He made this announcement during a luncheon held in honour of the Under-19 Cricket Team after their victory in the Asia Cup on Monday.
The event was attended by Federal Minister for Interior and Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, as well as team players and PCB officials.
The Prime Minister congratulated the team on their magnificent victory, emphasising that their success has brought pride to the nation. He acknowledged the efforts of the team, the administration, and the PCB, praising the hard work of Mohsin Naqvi. He highlighted the performances of players Ali Raza and Sameer Minhas, extending congratulations to all players, coaches, and staff involved in the team’s success.
Prime Minister Sharif stated that Allah Almighty granted Pakistan victory in the contest against India. He announced a reward of Rs 10 million for each player and Rs 2.5 million for each member of the team management. He remarked that the entire nation celebrated this victory with immense joy.
Chairman of the PCB Mohsin Naqvi described the U-19 team’s win as a significant honour and a historic day for the country. In response, the team captain and players expressed their gratitude to the Prime Minister for the announced rewards, noting that they received full support from the PCB and that the coaches put in a tremendous amount of effort during the training camp.
In the final played in Dubai on Sunday, Pakistan Under-19 team triumphed over their arch-rivals India by a remarkable margin of 191 runs, winning the Asia Cup for the second time. To celebrate this historic achievement, a special lunch was organised in honour of the team and management today at the Prime Minister’s House.
