Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif met with public representatives from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province to discuss various issues concerning the region. The meeting focused on the overall political situation, public welfare, development projects, and governance challenges faced by the people of the province.
During the discussion, the Prime Minister emphasized that the federal government is fully aware of the difficulties confronting the residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and is actively working towards sustainable solutions within its jurisdiction. He highlighted the timely completion of ongoing federal development projects and addressing public grievances as top priorities.
Participants expressed their concerns regarding the current provincial government’s performance, stating that it has been ineffective in governing and does not have a clear policy concerning health, education, infrastructure, and public welfare. They urged that more attention must be paid to the public’s issues.
In response, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif encouraged the public representatives to prioritize the resolution of these problems. He mentioned a recent initiative where laptops were distributed based on merit to students in Haripur, commending the youth as the future assets of Pakistan. He assured that this merit-based distribution policy would continue, enabling the youth to contribute significantly to the nation’s development.
Additionally, the Prime Minister announced the establishment of a committee, led by Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, to oversee federally sponsored development projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The committee will visit Peshawar to assess project progress after consultations with public representatives.
