Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held phone calls with the leaders of Malaysia, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan on Friday to discuss the intensifying conflict in the Middle East.
Against the backdrop of a war initiated by the US and Israel against Iran, which has seen retaliatory Iranian strikes on regional targets, including assets in Azerbaijan, and Israeli operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon, all leaders issued a collective call for de-escalation.
During his conversation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, which was held to exchange Eid ul Fitr greetings, the Prime Minister strongly condemned the attacks targeting Azerbaijan.
