Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the authorities to ensure uninterrupted gas supply to domestic consumers from 5am to 10pm during the winter season.
The directive was conveyed in the National Assembly by Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervez Malik while responding to a call-attention notice regarding ongoing gas shortages.
The minister said the prime minister had instructed gas utilities to priorities domestic consumers and maintain a stable supply window, particularly during cooking and heating hours.
He noted that gas load shedding had significantly decreased compared to last year, and the government was working to further improve distribution.
According to minister, the government was closely monitoring areas facing low gas pressure. If anyone faces problems, they should point it out we will resolve the issue, he added.
The minister informed the House that authorities received between 80,000 and 90,000 complaints in November, most of them pertaining to OGRA matters. Of these, he said, 70 to 80 per cent were addressed within 36 hours.
He assured lawmakers that the petroleum division was committed to addressing public grievances and meeting household gas demand during the winter months.
Uninterrupted domestic supply, he reiterated, remains a key priority of the government’s energy management strategy
