Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a major relief package aimed at easing the burden of rising fuel prices, with a special subsidy for motorcyclists across Pakistan.

In a address to the nation, the prime minister said motorcyclists will receive a subsidy of Rs100 per litre on petrol for one month to support millions of citizens who rely on motorcycles for daily commuting and livelihoods.

He stated that the initiative is designed to provide immediate relief to the lower- and middle-income segments of society, as motorcycles remain the most widely used mode of transport in the country.

Alongside the relief for motorcyclists, the government also announced subsidies for goods transporters and public transport operators, offering them Rs100 per litre support for a month to prevent an increase in transport fares and reduce inflationary pressure.

The prime minister emphasized that the measures aim to protect ordinary citizens from the impact of rising global oil prices while ensuring the supply chain and transportation sector continue to operate smoothly.
