PESHAWAR: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force and Pirabad Police, in a joint operation, exposed a network of inter-provincial drug smugglers and arrested two suspects.
According to task force head DIG Irfan Baloch a consignment of 145 kg of drugs was recovered from the Alto car of the arrested suspects. The suspects include Muhammad Ali and Zia-ur-Rehman.
According to DIG Irfan, the value of the drugs seized from the suspects in the international market is more than Rs 15 million.
The suspects used to bring drugs to Karachi from Ijaz, a resident of Peshawar, and Qaiser, a resident of Swabi.
According to the head of the task force, the suspects wanted to supply a shipment of drugs to various bases through an Alto car, but were arrested in an operation conducted on a tip-off.
Now efforts are underway to arrest Ijaz and Qaiser, who are involved in the drug network.
Case has been registered against the accused and an investigation has been initiated. The DIG says that intelligence-based anti-drug operations are ongoing in Karachi.
