Peshawar High Court stayed the privatization of 28 schools in Buner and issued a summary order of the previous hearing directing both parties to submit a detailed response within 14 days.

The lawyer for petitioner Akhtar Ilyas Advocate said that 28 government primary schools are being privatized in Tehsil Mandanar and Tehsil Khudokhel of Buner, these schools include 10 boys’ and 18 girls’ primary schools.

On August 11, the provincial government issued a notification regarding privatization, and based on this notification, these 28 schools are being outsourced, the Petitioner Lawyer said

This outsourcing is illegal and against the fundamental rights of the Constitution. He said that the provincial government should take steps to improve the quality of these schools, instead of privatizing, the lawyer told the court.

The Lawyer said that with the privatization of these schools, thousands of children in this area will be deprived of free education; therefore, the court must issue an order to stop this privatization process.

The court directed the government to submit a detailed report regarding the outsourcing of these schools and stayed the matter till the order for 14 days.
